xmas dinner 2Christmas dinner with AK Twinning on 5 December 2015 was a huge success with festive munching and jiving. We are still checking the photos to ensure that there is nothing risqué before publishing them!

Quiz pictureWith fabulous food and an intense quiz, the Twinners, families and friends, got together for their October meeting in Church House. Almost 40 turned up to eat a delicious meal - cooked by members as usual - and to exercise their brains as well as their mouths.

Place your bets and ready for the off!!

On 21st November we held a fund raising event at which nearly seventy people sampled the delights of fluffy pigs racing towards a close finish!

Sept 15 Wine and cheeseSeptember is usually a quiet month for the Twinners with many of them taking holiday this month. However, the September meeting brought out 35 of us to enjoy a tasty lasagne meal followed by a wide selection of cheeses. Or was it the fact that our committee had organised a wine tasting evening? Sounds more like it.

Matt Chamberlain, assistant manager of Majestic Wines in Totnes, had come along to talk to us and bring several bottles of red, white and rose for us to sample. Matt described the wines, their countries of origin, the grapes used and, naturally, how little they cost at his store.

We finished the evening with our heads filled with facts and the bottles emptied.

Cricket Club fun dayCricket club fun dayTwinning Family Fun day at the Cricket Club

The village Twinning Association's June meeting took the form of a Family Fun Day and Barbecue at the cricket club. We had wonderful weather for the 20 members who attended.

July Garden PartyThis year's Garden Party took place on a surprisingly sunny day in the gardens of Fairfield, Vicarage Road.

This wonderful garden is an annual highlight of the Open Gardens each year, and thirty four members and prospective members were treated to the spectacular views over the rolling fields amongst the eclectic and sumptuous collection of summer flowers.

The food, as usual provided by members and expertly organised by Trish Turner, included a variety of salads and whole food quiches (courtesy of Liz Clowes' new flirtation with Amy Chaplin's book) with meats from the Model Stores. Dessert was ice-cream with strawberries and blueberries.
