AGM January 2021
Twinners are not winners this year, but then who is winning? We had to cancel the 2020 visit from the French and have also cancelled it for 2021 because of all the uncertainty. However, we did get together on Zoom for our AGM, having bribed and cajoled members with a (tiny) bottle of wine and an apple pie delivered to their door in order to get them to brave the uncertain world of technology.
One member even went as far as acquiring a new camera / microphone for their PC, another got lost behind the Golden Gate Bridge and the Chairman, Liz Clowes, forgot that Christmas was over and was still wearing her antlers! You can’t say that we don’t know how to enjoy ourselves, but this was a far cry from our usual ebullient and joyful get-togethers. We re-elected the outgoing committee bar one who declined due to ill health. We thank Linda Banks for all the many years of service to Abbotskerswell Twinning - she was one of the founder members and deserves a rest from the committee.
